Solving Nasal congestion without changing the shape of the nose

During aesthetic operations breathing complaints are solved as well as reshaping the nose. These two procedures are both performed at the same time by the asethetic surgeon. On the other hand, sometimes, especially male patients only ask for a solution to their nasal congestion and snoring problem. In that case such operation may be planned for openning the air channels without aesthetic concepts such as removal of nose bridge or reshaping the nose or the nose tip.
Most of the patients in our country who wish to have rhinoplasty also have curved cartilage called as “septum deviation” in their noses as well. This curvature sometimes narrows one channel and sometimes both channels and this leads to congestion. During rhinoplasty this septum cartilage is reshaped as plain. Thus, breathing complaint would be amended while eliminating the skew in the nose.
On the other hand it is the main point that patients should have a healthy breathing nose together with a facially proportional good looking nose after a successfull surgery. Therefore, we always mention to our patients who do not want to have delibirately operated nose that we always achieve to have a very natural look. We make a presentation of the before and after pictures of our previously operated patients. We again mention that we will achieve natural looking results that it will not be noticed by others as operated. However if the patient insist on not having any aesthteic intervention than we can perform the operation only to eliminate functional complaints.
